NASA Ames Research Center’s Aerospace Engineer Tara Samuels tells the story of the Apollo 11 spaceflight, during which Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquility while Michael Collins orbited in the command module awaiting their rendezvous. Apollo 11 celebrates its 50th anniversary on July 20, 2019.
Tara is a private pilot and volunteers as a Solar System Ambassador for NASA Jet Propulsion Lab. She holds an MS in Aerospace Engineering and an MBA, and is passionate about all things air and space.
