National Voter Registration Day
by
Gail Mason, Library Services Manager for Adult and Teen Services
September 10, 2019
Are you registered to vote in the upcoming 2020 election?
Tuesday, September 24 is National Voter Registration Day
, and your community library is committed to making it easier to register before the deadline for the next election. Each
SCCLD library
will have a table with voter registration forms and volunteers to help answer any questions. If you turned 18 recently, changed your name, moved, or haven’t voted in recent elections, take this opportunity to update your voter registration. First-time voters are particularly encouraged to register.
16 and 17 year olds can also pre-register to vote! That way, you will be automatically registered to vote on your 18th birthday.
In California, the deadline to register to vote for any election is 15 days before Election Day, so please register early!
This year, your registration must be postmarked or submitted electronically by February 17, 2020, in order to vote in the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary election. (You can “conditionally” register and vote at your county elections office after the 15-day voter registration deadline.)
To check your registration status, access election information and to register online, check out our
Voting
page.
REGISTER. VOTE. BE HEARD.
