The James Beard Awards are often referred to as "the Oscars of the food industry." The 2016 James Beard Awards celebrate nationwide excellence in cuisine, culinary writing, and culinary education. The James Beard Foundation was created in honor of the influence of James Beard, the famed American chef and food writer.
