On Saturday, April 1st, at 4:00 PM, the Milpitas Library will be showing the film 1984, followed by a discussion.

The film will be screened at theaters across North America and Europe in April. The month of April was chosen for its significance in the George Orwell novel; it is when the protagonist begins rebelling against the government by keeping a diary.

The nationwide screening reflects the recent popularity of 1984 and other classic dystopian novels.

The movie, which was originally released in 1984, stars John Hurt and Richard Burton and is directed by Michael Radford
