On Thursday, June 28th, children at the Milpitas Library got to see a real San Francisco 49ers' quarterback performance, not in a football game, but in a real (and very fun) storytime!

Jack Heneghan, a 49ers' rookie quarterback, was a good sport about being silly for storytime.  After first leading the kids in some football calisthenics to warm up (and get the wiggles out), Jack read the book, Don't Throw It to Mo by David Adler, projected onto the giant screen in the Milpitas Library's Auditorium, before an audience of 200+ kids, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas.

Then without missing a beat, Jack morphed into Piggie with Lauren (the librarian) playing Gerald, the Elephant, for a readers' theater of We Are In a Book by Mo Willems, as well as two other silly stories featuring Piggie and Elephant. Watch a sample of the performance in this short, but sweet video by the 49ers by clicking here.

The 49ers storytime was presented in partnership with the Santa Clara County Library District and the San Francisco 49ers for the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge, Reading Takes You Everywhere.
