Do your Research from Home!

If you need a research article for a homework assignment, check out our databases.
Go to: www.sccl.org/Kids/Homework-Help?categoryid=78

For example, to find an article from National Geographic, just select "National Geographic" in the list of resources.

Once you are on the National Geographic site, enter your search terms in the search box on the top, right side of the page.

If you enter "Yosemite National Park," you will get a list of articles. Take a look at the first article, "Unplugging the Selfie Generation." This article was written by Timothy Egan, Casey Egan, and Corey Arnold. The article was published in the October 2016 issue of National Geographic.

This site can even help you write the citation (or where you acquired the information).

If you want it in MLA format, it tells you to write it this way:

Egan, Timothy, et al. "Unplugging the Selfie Generation." National Geographic Magazine, Oct. 2016, p. 33-34+. National Geographic Virtual Library, tinyurl.galegroup.com/tinyurl/5asBY6. Accessed 29 Nov. 2017.

There are many more databases where you can access articles and information for your homework. All you need is your Santa Clara County Library card and your PIN (personal identification number). Try it for yourself!
