What Would Queen Gertrude Read?

What Would Queen Gertrude Read?

The king is dead! This is terrible—widowhood is for old women! What's a woman still in the prime of life to do?  Marrying dear Claudius, your former brother-in-law, solved so many problems.    It's a little confusing for Hamlet - you're not only his mother but his aunt -  but at least you’re still the Queen.

Hamlet is not taking it at all well, stamping around muttering “frailty thy name is woman!” in your hearing. He’s gone mad with grief, ignoring that pretty Ophelia and all but accusing Claudius of murder. Is it your imagination or does this wine taste strange?
