Allergy Care and Prevention

Spring is officially here.  While we enjoy the pleasant weather and beautiful flowers, Spring is the time of the year when many people suffer from seasonal allergies with symptoms including sneezing, itchy eyes, stuffy nose and skin rash. Pollen, trees, weeds, grasses and even animal dander are common allergens.
Statistically, allergies affect an estimated 40 million to 50 million adults and children in the United States.  Like any other chronic condition, there is no cure for allergies. However, Mayo Clinic staff points out there are simple allergy-proof tips that can help reduce the triggers. Medications such nasal sprays, eye drops, skin cream and inhalers may help alleviate symptoms.

The American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology offers many videos on different types of allergies.  More preventive strategies can be found on the website of National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences

Please consult your health care provider before making any healthcare decisions or for guidance about a specific medical condition.
