The Library Talks @ SCCLD

The Library Talks is an initiative to bring authors to California libraries through shared virtual visits. SCCLD is proud to participate in this groundbreaking idea, brought to you by a grant from the Pacific Library Partnership. The Library Talks brings your favorite authors to your library via live video conferencing. Hear them talk and read in real time, and ask them your questions via Twitter.

The first author we'll be hosting is Tamora Pierce, author of the Song of the Lioness quartet, the Immortals series, the Protector of the Small series, and more. I first read Alanna in middle school, and was so enchanted by the story of a girl pretending to be a boy so she can attain knighthood that I devoured the rest of the series. Though that was over 20 years ago, children, tweens, and teens are still discovering and loving her books. Don't miss this great event, hosted at the Milpitas and Gilroy libraries, on Tuesday, October 13th at 6:30pm.

The next Library Talk we have scheduled is with the hugely successful Andy Weir, author of the blockbuster hit The Martian, now a movie starring Matt Damon. The Martian is our current eBook pick, so if you haven't read it yet, get your copy now and be ready! The Library Talks with Andy Weir will be hosted at Campbell, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, and Saratoga libraries on Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30pm.

Upcoming Library Talks include authors Tess Gerritsen and Jill Shalvis, so stay tuned!
