SCCLD Brings Mindfulness to the Library with Headspace

Headspace is meditation made simple - an app designed for busy, modern lives to learn the essentials of meditation and mindfulness in just a few minutes a day.

The app offers hundreds of guided meditations on a variety of topics - from stress and sleep, to focus and performance. Members will have access to Headspace on mobile or web, and can choose from sessions that fit their schedule, including short 1-3 minute breaks, 10-minute sessions, and advanced deeper-dive sessions. This skills-building program is based on authentic techniques honed over thousands of years and is supported by an in-house science team that continuously studies the impact of Headspace, partnering with top research institutions and companies around the world.

Headspace has more than 40 million members across 190 countries. In 19 published studies in some of the leading mindfulness peer-reviewed journals, Headspace has been shown to have favorable outcomes of interventions including reduced stress, improved focus, increased compassion, and decreased aggression.
