We've Got Your Book Club Covered!

Did you know that SCCLD has book club kits created for your use? You don't need to leave it to your book club members to each find their own copy of the title you want to read. We have kits ready-made for you! And book club kits check out for 6 weeks so you'll have plenty of time to hand the book out at this month's meeting, finish the book, and discuss it next month before it's due back at the library.

Each kit is made up of a tote bag with 12 copies of the title, often with a large type or audiobook version included, as well as a discussion guide. Each discussion guide includes information about the book and the author, a list of discussion questions, and a list of read-alikes (just in case you loved the book that much). We also supply feedback forms and check-out lists so you can keep track of who in your group has which copy of the book.

You can search for these kits in the catalog by simply typing in "book club kit". This will bring up a list of over 170 titles in both fiction and non-fiction for you to choose from. You can reserve them, just like any other item in the catalog, and pick them up at the accounts desk at your local library. Some of the newer titles we've received include The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, Camino Island by John Grisham, and Starting Now by Debbie Macomber. We also have book club kits for the Silicon Valley Reads titles Goodbye Vitamin by Rachel Khong and My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward by David Lukach.

We are sure you'll find something to like - that your book club hasn't read yet!
