Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Making Money

Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Making Money

Written by Tommy Greenwald and Illustrated by J.P. Coovert

This hilarious middle-grade novel is crying to be read aloud.  The narrator, Charlie Joe Jackson, wants to buy the latest gadget to hit his middle school, a Botman, but he needs to figure out how to get the money to do so.  He recommends to the reader various inventive techniques for how to make money without working too hard, such as getting others to do the work for you while pocketing most of the cash yourself.  However, his own money-making escapades fall flat, until his final coup de grâce, a bar mitzvah thrown for himself despite the fact that he is not Jewish, just so he can get cash from the parents.  Creative, clever and laugh-out-loud funny, this rollicking romp will be hard to put down even for the adults in the room!
