Say It Loud....Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration to recognize the achievements of black scientists, writers, actors, inventors, politicians, activists, and other innovators who have played a central part in creating the history of the United States. There are countless ways to celebrate these individuals and their contributions this month (and every month)--we think one of the best ways is through reading their work and learning their stories. This month our blog is highlighting the words of black women with essays and memoirs on a wide range of topics. Pick of a few of these at one of our library locations. Don’t have time to stop in?
