Gilroy teens, this is your chance!

Gilroy teens, this is your chance!
Are you at least 14 years old, in grades 9-12, attending school or living in the Gilroy Unified School District, and interested in making a difference in your community and among your peers?  If so, consider applying to become a member of Gilroy Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB)!

This unique opportunity will give you the chance to attend meetings with other teens where you can share ideas and opinions and plan library events. You’ll be able to serve as a sounding board for library projects and programs that affect teens as well as act as a representative of, and liaison between, other teens (your peers) and the library. Additionally, you may be asked to lead a marketing or programming project. Work done on the TAB is eligible for Community Service Hours.

We are looking for teens who:
  • love the Gilroy Library
  • are willing to share opinions and ideas
  • want teen voices to be heard
  • want to develop leadership skills and become a leader for the Gilroy community
  • want to make Gilroy Library a better place for teens
  • are creative and forward thinking
  • can attend monthly meetings (4th Wednesday of the month, 6pm)
  • are able to serve on the board for the entire 2018/2019 school year
If you think you are a good candidate for being a TAB member, fill out an application (2 pages, also available in the library)

Applications are due Friday, August 31, 2018. Return your completed application by email to or drop it off in person to the upstairs information desk at Gilroy Library.
