SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – November 22, 2016, Ready Rosie, Santa Clara County Library District’s (SCCLD) newest online resource, is now available  for free to all parents, caregivers and educators with a SCCLD library card or access to a SCCLD Library.   Providing early education tips, resources and insights, Ready Rosie offers invaluable information that can help adults as they teach children new things through simple and easy strategies.  Information found on Ready Rosie is available in both English and Spanish.  “We are so excited to offer Ready Rosie at SCCLD.  It’s almost as good as having your own personal Early Education professional at your fingertips! We already know how important the first five years are for a child.  The experiences they encounter at an early age provide the basis for brain development and directly impact how their learning skills and social and emotional abilities will develop in later years. Knowing this, we hope to connect many parents, caregivers and educators to this Early Learning eResource and empower families to engage in a fun and educational way,” commented Jennifer Weeks, SCCLD Children’s Library Services Manager.

By offering a variety of online resources for adults, Ready Rosie utilizes weekly informative two minute videos, interactive activities, and early education insights to help turn everyday activities into meaningful interactions and learning opportunities while helping to develop early literacy skills. Featured videos promote skills such as sorting, sequencing, motor skills and the building of vocabulary.  Access to Ready Rosie is easy.  It can be used in the library or a person may register with a SCCLD library card to receive weekly text or email messages in both English and Spanish.   Learn more about Ready Rosie or subscribe here: https://www.sccl.org/Kids/Early-Learning/Ready-Rosie.
