Volunteer at the Library

Teen Volunteer Application for volunteers 14-17 years of age. 

The Library does not accept volunteers under 14 years of age.

Campbell Library

Teen volunteers must be age 14 and up.
  • Volunteers have the option of being on a weekly schedule and/or being notified of special events.
  • Teens may also apply to volunteer with the Teen Advisory Board. We meet monthly to talk about how we can make the library better for teens.
  • To apply, fill out an application from the Teen Zone or ask for one at the Adult Information Desk or Accounts Desk, then hand it in at one of the desks.

Cupertino Library

To become a teen volunteer at the Cupertino Library:
  1. Get a Teen Volunteer application from 2nd floor Adult Reference Desk.
  2. Read over, agree to terms and conditions, and fill out the form completely.
  3. Return the completed form to the Adult Reference Desk.

Gilroy Library

Teens must be 14 years or older to volunteer.
 
Gilroy Library has volunteer opportunities for Teens wishing to complete Community Service Hours.   The library holds 4 volunteer sessions per year:
 
June-August  l  September-November  l  December-February  l  March-May
 
Prior to each volunteer session a contact list is created. Teens that are on the contact list will be contacted in the month before their session and asked to attend a volunteer orientation. All volunteers are required to attend an orientation session before they begin their volunteering at the library. Please visit the Information Desk upstairs at the library to be added to the contact list.

Volunteering at the Los Altos Library:
  • Potential volunteers must visit during our open hours and fill out a volunteer application at the Adult Reference Desk.
  • Volunteers may work a maximum of two hours a week.
  • Assignments are a minimum three month commitment. Must be at least 14 years of age.

 Teen volunteers 14 and up must attend a volunteer orientation, in order to volunteer.
 
Volunteer orientations:
  • Are held on the third Wednesday of each month from 4:00-4:30 PM in the Computer Training Room.    
  • No orientations are held during the months of July, August, November and December.

Volunteering at the Morgan Hill Library:
  • Please visit during our open hours and fill out a volunteer application at the Accounts Desk.
  • Volunteer hours are available Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00-6:00 PM and Saturday from 2:00-4:00 PM.

The library has a limited number of teen volunteer positions available on a quarterly basis:

June-August  l  September-November  l  December-February  l  March-May

Apply for a session if you:

  • Are at least 14 years old
  • Love the library and want to make a difference in your community
  • Can commit to two scheduled volunteer hours per week for three months

  • Minimum age for volunteers is 14 years old.
  • Volunteers may work up to two hours per day, Monday through Friday.
  • Saturday volunteering hours are by special arrangement only (closed on Sundays), and schedules must be arranged at least one week prior to starting.
