The Woodland Branch Tweens Read Book Club had its first meeting last week! Not only did we talk about the book (The London Eye Mystery) but we also performed a Name Juggle, did a Bristish to American English word match, and snacked on salt and vinegar crisps (potato chips) along with other goodies. As part of the ongoing celebration of the 60th anniversary of Los Altos, the Los Altos History Museum will be hosting a Downtown Walking Tour this Sunday, September 30 from 4-7 p.m. Enjoy costumed docents interpreting the town's notable historical figures, a vintage car exhibit, and the Wells Fargo stagecoach. Baby Lapsit will start up again on Friday, September 21st at 11:00 am. Our last meeting will be Friday, November 16th. It is a 20-minute participation storytime for non-walking babies accompanied by a parent or caregiver and includes stories, action rhymes and songs. Newborns to one-year-olds (non-walkers) love to watch animals and pictures of babies on the books read by one of our children's librarians . . . more »
