Jazz Up Your Holidays!

I love this time of year. The weather turns cold and I stay indoors getting ready for the holiday season. I like to bake cookies, write holiday cards and decorate the house. I do this with a nice fire going in the fireplace, and of course great music in the background. Jazz music creates a perfect soundtrack for me while I keep busy baking, writing and decorating. Let me share with you some of my favorite DVD's that put me in the holiday spirit.

40 Years

40 Years : A Charlie Brown Christmas

This is a great rendition of Vince Guaraldi's classic album. With David Benoit on piano, Dave Koz on Saxophone and Chaka Khan doing vocals how can you not get into the holiday spirit?

A Swingin' Christmas

A Swingin' Christmas - Tony Bennett featuring the

Count Basie Big Band

What's not to like? This is perfect music to listen to while decorating your Christmas tree with family ornaments. Nothing like Tony Bennett singing "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

Christmas Songs

Christmas Songs -  Diana Krall

Call up your friends, ask them to help you with your holiday baking and reward them with the music from this CD. As you sit and eat fresh baked cookies you'll find yourselves joining in with Ms. Krall as she beautifully sings "Winter Wonderland" to perfection.

12 Songs of Christmas

12 Songs of Christmas - Etta James

Yes, Ms. James was an amazing blues singer, but in this CD, she really jazzs up these Christmas classics. I guarantee that as you listen to her belt out "Joy to the World" you'll drop those cards you're writing and will be transfixed by her talent.

Everything You Want for Christmas

Everything You Want for Christmas - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

You've baked, you've dressed up your Christmas tree and you've finished writing all your holilday cards. Now what? Well, you put on your dancing shoes, call over family and friends and get your holiday party started with with VERY jazzy Christmas album.
