Vive La France!: The French and their Painting at Cupertino Library

This Saturday January 25th, take a journey to France that requires no passport and no French lessons. Just a short trip to the Cupertino Community Hall at 10350 Torre Avenue for the program Vive La France! The French and Their Painting. De Young Museum docent Kay Payne will show us the France that centuries of French painters saw, loved, and depicted on their canvases. From the formality of the Court of the Sun King at Versailles to the simple pleasures of ordinary people in an impressionist springtime landscape, French life  and history was well-recorded.
This program is kindly sponsored by The Friends of the Cupertino Library.  Save the date for our next De Young Museum art lecture on Saturday, February 15th.  Kay Payne will be back to talk about artists Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable in The World of Jane Austen:  Art and Culture in 18th and 19th Century Britain.
