Library Measure A Ballot

Expiring soon, the Library Measure A Ballot continues current funding at existing rates with no increase in taxes.

Measure A:Woman placing ballot in mailbox
  • Is an all-mail ballot requiring a two-thirds vote to pass
  • Ballots are mailed out July 29 to library district residents
  • Benefits every Library in the District
  • Accounts for 18% of total library budget
  • Continues current funding at existing rates with no increase in taxes
  • Single family homes pay $33.66 annually through their property tax

Measure A directly helps our libraries to:

  • Maintain library hours and services
  • Keep qualified librarians
  • Provide an award-winning bookmobile program
  • Maintain children’s reading programs
  • Buy needed books and up-to-date research materials

More than 100,000 kids attend our library programs each year. Without Measure A, programs for school children, teens, and community college students may be reduced or eliminated.

To learn more about Measure A visit the FAQ page or contact County Librarian, Nancy Howe at 408-293-2326 or nhowe@sccl.org.
