C. W. Gortner Visits Cupertino Community Hall

The Tudor Secret

The Tudor Secret

”There is always a secret to uncover behind the portrait, a mystery to explore within the legend, a hidden motivation under the fact. I write historical fiction for the same reason that I read it: because I crave the emotion of the past.” C. W. Gortner

Cupertino Library is pleased to welcome historical novelist C. W. Gortner to the Cupertino Community Hall on Thursday, April 18 at 7:00 pm.

Mr. Gortner  grew up in Spain and  holds an M.F.A with an emphasis in Renaissance Studies from New College in California. But that was only the beginning of his literary scholarship. To bring the Renaissance world back to life through his books, he has traveled extensively in Europe, danced a galliard in a Tudor Hall, and experienced life in a Spanish castle.

To find out more about Mr. Gortner and his books, please  visit his webpage.

In the past four years, the Cupertino Adult Book Discussion group has read a number of Mr. Gortner’s novels including this month’s selection,The Tudor Secret. The Tudor Conspiracy, V. 2 in the Elizabeth I Spymaster series, will be released this July. If you love both historical fiction and the thrill of an intricate spy story, C. W. Gortner might become your next favorite novelist.

If you are interested in joining, the Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday evening of each month in the Library Story Room at 7:00 pm. All meetings are sponsored by the Friends of the Cupertino Library.
