Have you ever thought of helping someone improve their English?
The library's English as a Second Language programs and conversation clubs are flourishing. Every week we hold discussion groups that provide forums for practicing speaking English, we also offer individual tutoring sessions for reading and writing--also at the library--at times convenient to the tutor and the student.
The Reading Program is looking for more volunteers to tutor people who want to improve their reading and writings skills. A number of people have signed up, and we’re so grateful. But now we need even more tutors in Campbell, Cupertino, Milpitas and Saratoga because even more people are asking to improve their English. Reading Program staff provide training and support, and you do not need to know a second language to help others build their skills. Volunteer tutors are given a variety of tools and support to help with the learning process.
