Every parent wants to help her child learn and succeed. And, really its not so hard to do. There are 5 basic practices that support early literacy: singing, talking, reading, writing and playing. Don't you already do all of that? Of course, you do!
Bringing children to storytime at the library can help. This week's storytimes at Campbell featured silly stories with a helping of Dr Seuss. The Seuss stories offer lots of repetition which children need to create a base of knowledge. Reading these familiar stories again and again solidifies this base which will help children become good readers.
