From the Food Pyramid to MyPlate: A Change on the Dietary Guideline

If so, here’s some good news!
Nineteen years after the Food Pyramid icon was first introduced, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has finally decided to replace the Food Pyramid dietary guideline with MyPlate.
The concept of MyPlate is super easy. Divide your plate into the four sections of the major dietary food groups: Grains, Vegetables Fruits and Protein. Vegetables and Grains each take slightly more than a quarter of the plate space, while the protein and fruits each take less than a quarter. Other important fat-free or low-fat calcium rich dairy food has the smallest portion size in your daily meal.
