Exercise is considered essential in keeping physically and psychologically healthy. Some proven benefits include reducing stress, boosting energy, controlling weight, promoting sleeping quality, and alleviating the discomfort of degenerative and chronic disease.

Running is a common exercise that many people enjoy. The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine provides the following simple safety tips for runners to avoid sports injury.

1.     Have at least a five-minute stretching warm up before running.

2.     Replace the running shoes after 500-600 miles run.

3.     Run on flat, resilient surface instead of the concrete or rough road.

4.     Dress in layers and avoid dehydration by drinking one pint of water for every pound

of weight lost.</
