You can check out up to 10 titles for each collection.

Lending periods

OverDrive 7, 14, or 21 days
Axis 360 Up to 21 days. If you choose the Add to Checkout List option instead of the Checkout Now option the service will allow you to shrink your checkout period to as few as seven days.
OneClickdigital 1-21 days
Freegal Music none, free for you to keep
Zinio unlimited

Returning

OverDrive Titles can be returned before they expire. View our step-by-step instructions by device.
Axis 360 Titles cannot be returned early as they are set to expire automatically.
OneClickdigital You can return a title before the expiration date from within the OneClickdigital Media Manager. Simply click on the button that says Return Now for the title in question under the Checked Out tab.
Freegal Music none, free for you to keep
Zinio You can unsubscribe from a title at any time. There's no expiration date.

Renewing

OverDrive Titles cannot be renewed, but you can check them out again after they expire.
Axis 360 Titles cannot be renewed, but you can check them out again after they expire.
OneClickdigital
  • Users can renew titles prior to their expiration date up to two times.
  • You have the option to change your settings to be notified 48 hours in advance of the title expiring.
  • If the title is a single access title and there is a hold on it for another patron, you would not be able to renew a title.
  • To renew a title...
    • Login to your account.
    • Go to the Title Details page under the Checked Out tab.
    • Click the Extend button.
    • You can also extend your check out period for a title by clicking the Extend button for that title in the OneClickdigital Media Manager.
Freegal Music You can download the same song 2 additional times with 2 weeks of your original download through the Recent Downloads tab.
Zinio You can read a title as many times as you wish. There are no restrictions.

Holds

OverDrive

Up to 12 titles can be placed on hold at one time for each collection. We'll send you an email when a title becomes available.
Axis 360

Up to 12 titles can be placed on hold at one time for each collection. We'll send you an email when a title becomes available.
OneClickdigital

Up to 10 titles can be placed on hold at one time for each collection. We'll send you an email when a title becomes available.
Freegal Music No holds allowed. The download counter resets each week on Sunday at 9:00 PM (Pacific Time).
Zinio No holds necessary. Access any available title instantly without any restrictions.

Canceling a hold

OverDrive
  • Login to your account.
  • Click the Account icon displayed at the top of the page.
  • Click the Holds link.
  • Click a title's Remove link to cancel the hold.
Axis 360
  • Login to your account.
  • Click the My List link.
  • From the Hold Queue click a title's Remove on Hold link to cancel the hold.
OneClickdigital
  • Login to your account.
  • Click the My Collections tab.
  • Click the Holds tab.
  • Click the link that says Remove next to the title information.
Freegal Music Once you click the "download now" button, it can't be reversed. It will count towards your download limit even if you cancel or choose "play" instead of "download." To avoid this, please use the song clips to ensure you are downloading a song you want in your music library. We cannot credit a download.
Zinio You can unsubscribe from a title at any time. 


Replacement cards (for OverDrive only)

If you were issued a new library card number and need to transfer your OverDrive checkouts and holds to your new account, please contact support. Be sure to include your new library card number, your old library card number, and your email address.
