Shape Shifters are the new Vampires

It seems that shape shifters have now worked their way into teen literature. First there was the series by Kelley Armstrong that started with The Gathering, followed by the new teen series by Kai Meyer, Arcadia Awakens. The most recent title that I read was Shifting by Bethany Wiggins. Most of these stories fit the true paranormal mold, a love interest and some sort of battle against the bad guys. Add in a little shape shifting into a variety of animals like cougars, snakes and dogs and you get a new genre. I think it's a welcome change from your typical paranormal flair, check out any of these three titles.
