Like the cartoon at the bottom of this page illustrates, some stories may inspire us to get creative and perhaps even start our own business venture. The Library offers all sorts of resources for business and investing.
A couple of online resources that I want to highlight are:
Small Business Resource Center
It covers all major areas of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax, and more. Search the entire Business Plan Handbook series consisting of hundreds of samples of business plans, along with hundreds of periodicals, content from John Wiley & Sons, and Encyclopedia of Business Information Soruces.
Legal Information Center
This resource contains full-text publications and legal forms. Get legal help by accessing hundreds of reference books provided through Nolo, the nation's oldest and most respected provider of legal information for both consumers and small businesses. State-specific legal forms are also searchable by subject areas including Adoption, Bankruptcy, Name Changes and more.
We've also created a guide to locating small business library material. Find books and more by popoular topic such as starting your own business, writing a business plan, financing, marketing and sales, eCommerce, and much more!
