I have vivid memories of reading this on summer vacation a few years ago, basking in the sun and frantically turning pages to find out what would happen next. Before reading this book, I had never thought much of mystery novels. When a friend insisted I bring this along on my trip I reluctantly gave it a try. I returned from the trip begging for more recommendations. My bookshelf at home is now lined with Sherlock Holmes stories, and I owe my new-found love for the mystery genre entirely to The Club Dumas.
