Visiting a Pumpkin Patch – Fun for the Whole Family

Posted on Friday, October 25, 2013 by Travel_and_Outdoors

It’s that time of the year: the days are getting shorter, the fog lingers longer, switching on the heating system suddenly seems to be a good idea – and Halloween is coming up!

Have you visited a pumpkin patch yet? It’s a great little adventure for the whole family and the Bay Area has many different options:

Half Moon Bay is called the pumpkin capital of the world and even though we cannot confirm that this is true, it definitely has many great options: Pastorino Farms or Lemos Farm are only two of the many favorites.

And then there is Arata’s Pumkin Farm with an amazing corn field maze.

You can also take a trip to the east bay to G&M Farms pumpkin patch and corn field maze in Livermore or Uesugi Farms Pumpkin Park in San Martinifyou prefer the South Bay.

These are only a few of the options available in the bay area and wherever you go, you sure will have a good time with the whole family.

Even if you don’t have a whole day to spend among pumpkins, there are local patches worth visiting like the one on Saratoga Avenue.

Once you are the proud owner of a pumpkin, head over to the library for some tips on how to carve it:
