Favorite mountain biking quote:
"The secret to mountain biking is pretty simple. The slower you go the more likely it is you'll crash." Julie Furtado
Favorite outdoor quote:
"I find that in contemplating the natural world my pleasure is greater if there are not too many others contemplating it with me, at the same time." Edward Abbey
Favorite travel quote:
“On the old highway maps of America, the main routes were red and the back roads blue. Now even the colours are changing. But in those brevities just before dawn and a little after dusk – times neither day nor night the old roads return to the sky some of its colour. Then, in truth, they carry a mysterious cast of blue, and it’s that time when the pull of the blue highway is strongest – when the open road is a beckoning, a strangeness, a place where a man can lose himself.” Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon
Worst travel experience:
I was 13 and traveling with my parents. Need I say more? The only good thing about the trip was my parents did not leave me at the side of the road as they threatened to several times.
Best travel experience:
My first trip to Lake Tahoe with my bike and my best friend.

First mountain bike ride ever:
Rocky Ridge at Santa Teresa. Technically it wasn’t a ride since I ended up walking my bike down the trail. Rocky Ridge is aptly named.
Worst mountain bike ride ever:
It’s a long story but it involved rain, sheep poop, and a 20 mile cross country mountain bike race.

The one book I would want with me if I got stuck on a desert island:
Oh, please. I’m a librarian! Stuck with one book forever is my description of hell. The last time I went on vacation I took 20 paperbacks, my nook and my sony ereader.
