There are so many travel guides to choose from and sometimes it’s hard to know which one is the best. Personally I think it’s a question of preference. Some guides offer more in-depth information, others point out highlights, and some provide full color photographs of the locations described. Some specialize in faraway and exotic destination while others have a well-known travel contributor attached. Some focus on a specific destination, others on multi-country regions.
Some items to consider when choosing a travel guide:
Location overview and history
Size and weight
Online tools and information
Below is a list of well-known guidebook publishers available in our library catalog. To limit your search by a specific location or type of travel, you can utilize the search filter located on the left side of the screen. There are a series of pull-down menus and clickable headings – limit your search by “Region” or “Topic.”
