It’s 2013 and with it comes a shelf load of exciting new Teen Reads. The beginning of the year has a few sequels that I just can’t wait to read – time to get answers to some nagging questions and revisit some ‘friends’ that I’d like to know more about.
Warning, the reviews below contain some ‘spoilers’, if you haven’t read the first in these truly awesome series you may want to start there first!

Shades Of Earth: An Across The Universe Novel by Beth Revis. January 2013 It’s time for this space odyssey to come down to earth. The last book in the Across the Universe series, Shade of Earth follows on from the momentous decision that Amy and Elder made and has them trying to establish a new life on Centauri-Earth. Like the best sci-fi this one brings the promise of alien monsters, strange new discoveries and the conclusion of a bitter-sweet romance. |

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. February 2013 My favorite cyborg Cinder returns in the second book in the Lunar Chronicles. After Cinder’s traumatic discovery (and imprisonment) in the first book we find her on the run and about to become THE most wanted person in the world. Half a world away a new heroine, Scarlet, is on the search for her grandmother and the only person who has any information is the mysterious ‘Wolf’. Just how will these two stories connect? That’s something I can’t wait to find out! |

Perfect Scoundrels (a Heist Society Novel) by Ally Carter. February 2013 What’s not to love about Heist Society #3? You have Kat. And Hale. And Kat… and Hale. Throw in some impossible task that needs a criminal mastermind (and helpers!) and you have a great adventure. Perfect Scoundrels is set to have Kat trying to rescue Hale and his fortune, at the risk of losing Hale altogether… can we stand that? I don’t think so! |

Requiem by Lauren Oliver. March 2013 In Pandemonium Lena played a key part in the rebellion, now there’s a revolution underway and Lena is thrust headlong into the action. There’s a lot more to deal with than just a world in turmoil though, with the return of her first love I’m wondering just who Lena will choose, or better yet – after leaving Alex behind does she even have a choice?? |
