Entries due by Friday in essay contest- you could win $200!

The Los Altos Library Endowment is sponsoring an essay contest now through April 12.  Essays are to be themed on the Virginia Whipple Collection of Teaching Company Great Courses, a gift of the Endowment.  First place winner will receive $200, second place is $100!
The contest rules include:

You must have a Santa Clara County Library card.
One entry per person, based on one or more of the Great Courses in the Virginia Whipple Collection.
Entries must include a cover sheet with entry form information (name, address, phone, email and library card #).
Submit entries via email to losaltoslibraryendowment@gmail.com or at the Adult Reference Desk of the Los Altos Library.
Maximum essay length: 500 words; typed, double spaced, standard font.
Essays must be original work.

Judging criteria: What makes the Great Courses subject especially interesting or valuable to you personally?
Winners will be notified by April 24th.
