If you follow the Chinese zodiac, you probably already know that 2013 is the year of the snake! More specifically, from February 10th, 2013 - January 30th, 2014, it is the year of the water snake. According to one mythical legend, the snake is number six on the zodiac because a race across water was held to determine each animal's place on the calendar. The snake, being a weaker swimmer, decided to use the horse's hoof to help him cross... and when they reached the other side, the snake jumped out and scared the horse, edging him out for sixth place.
For those born in the year of the snake (I'm a dragon myself), you are typically regarded as being intelligent yet "calculating" and shrewd. You might come up with clever schemes in a cold and calculating manner, and also might be a loner type who sometimes uses others to get ahead in life. Some might be attracted to your swiftness and sleek beauty, while some might fear you for no good reason; either way, a person born in the year of the snake is sure to make an impression.
