Many of Shakespeare's plays have been adapted for the screen, and we have an abundance of choices when it comes to viewing a Shakespeare film. We can see Kenneth Branagh as "Hamlet" in the longest version of the play, Mel Gibson in a more abbreviated adaptation, or Ethan Hawke delivering "To Be or Not To Be" in a video store.
