Lately I've been noticing that there are quite a few movies that everyone seems to have seen except for me. I finally decided to try and remedy that by watching a few of them:
The first movie I decided to finally watch was Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Prior to watching this the only Hitchcock film I'd seen was Psycho, and I'm glad I found this on the shelf because I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only is it a great horror film, I loved seeing scenes of California in the early 60's.
I ran across Dirty Harry on the shelf and I'm glad I did because not only was it another movie filmed locally, I realized I hadn't seen any of Clint Eastwood's movies before. After seeing this, I'm definitely going to finally watch more of his movies.
The Terminator is the one movie on this list that I think people are most surprised to learn I hadn't watched before. I hope this never gets remade because some movies are great the way they were originally made, and this is one of them.
Breakfast at Tiffany's really surprised me. It was one of those movies that I'd heard of plenty of times but didn't really know what it was about, and when I finally read the descript I didn't think I would enjoy it very much. I was wrong! I can't put my finger on why exactly; I just loved everything about this.
WhileThe Hunger Games isn't old enough to be considered a classic movie yet, I decided to watch it because despite how much I've resisted, everyone I know has recommended it to me. This was another movie I was wrong about - I thoroughly enjoyed it and the next day I checked out the book to see what I've been missing.
What movies have been on your to-watch list for way too long?
