What's Your Genre?

Genre: (ˈzhän-rə) a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content.
Do you find yourself reading mostly one or two categories of books? Are you always looking for more books that are similar to your favorites? Genres (and genre labels) can help!
Books identified as Realistic Fiction, Mystery, Adventure, Historical Fiction, and Fantasy are currently on display in the Los Altos Children's Room, near the self-check machines.
Not finding your favorite genres on display? The library also has Recommended Reading Lists that cover all the genres, major awards, and popular homework topics. Kept near the New Book display, these lists also include titles held at other libraries in our district; we can always place a request for you if the book you want isn't at Los Altos!
