Did you know that October 1 is World Vegetarian Day? It is a day of celebration established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977 to “promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism,” and kicks off Vegetarian Awareness Month.
Whether you’re exploring a vegetarian diet for health, ethical or environmental reasons, there is no reason not to enjoy delicious vegetarian cooking with all the resources the library has to offer. We have cookbooks and magazines for all degrees of vegetarianism, from strictly vegan to vegetarian with some animal products to a flexitarian diet which incorporates some meat. Type "vegetarian cooking" into our catalog to come up with over 400 cookbooks! "Vegan cooking" brings up more than 100!!
