Hey everyone, spring has sprung!
Hooray, that means Stephenie Meyer's book The Host is finally going to be out as a movie on March 29th, 2013!
The Plot: The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. But Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. She and the alien inside her mind both start to long for the man Melanie loves until the two of them decide to search for him together.
What's that, you already read it? There's also a Korean horror movie from 2006 called The Host that I highly recommend for being more funny and heartwarming than Hollywood scary.
The Plot: A family gets caught in a national crisis when the daughter is carried away by a monster living in Seoul's biggest river. The result is as tense and bizarre as what would happen if someone like you or me got caught up in a monster movie.
Oh, you don't want anything remotely scary? This is getting silly but here's a great manga called Ouran High School Host Club that's as funny as it is romantic and full of excitement!
The Plot: Haruhi is a poor girl at a rich private school who breaks a vase and works to repay the cute, rich guys of her high school's host club -- who all think she's a boy! You can read the manga -- or you can borrow the anime on DVD or Blu-ray!
Okay, we may have exhausted all things "The Host" that the library can offer you today. But don't cry, we'll be back with more things for you to read and watch!
