How to Throw a Family Game Night

Our first Family Game Night at Campbell Library was a success! If you missed it, there's a second one on Monday, November 26th and you can drop-in between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

What Made Our Game Night So Great

1. Great parents! It warms the heart to see doting parents help their kids learn how to play a game as a family.

2. Sibling teamwork! Brothers and sisters worked together to take on challenging tasks, like a game of Twister.

3. Willingness to try new things! We had a variety of old favorites and new games on hand for everyone to try. Plus, classics can be introduced to a whole new generation!

4. Fair play! These girls learned how to take turns and have fun while doing it.

Tips for throwing a family game night at home:

• Try lots of different games! Even word fiends may get tired of Scrabble after a few months. Different games are great for showing each person's individual strengths and keeping things fresh.
• Games can be mentally or physically exhausting! Keep plenty of snacks and water on hand.
• Try putting away your cellphones so nothing can distract anyone from having a great time with family.
• Praise players who are good at winning or losing gracefully. No one likes a sore loser or a gloating winner!
