This week at story time we discussed the importance of growing children's vocabulary by using better and more descriptive words.
By using specific names for things like kitten vs. cat or puppy vs. dog when talking to your children, you help children learn new words and help them understand differences between similar things. This small step will help increase children's vocabulary on the road to becoming good readers.
