Pirates, Pirates, Everywhere

I just saw the movie "Captain Phillips", a suspenseful drama based on the true story of the 2009 hijacking of an American cargo ship by Somali pirates. Now I want to see the Danish film "A Hijacking", which offers a very different slant on two true incidents of Danish freighters taken over by Somali pirates. In this movie, the hijacking itself takes place off camera, and a lot of the action takes place back in the corporate offices in Denmark. Although there's less action, the critics say it delivers nerve-shattering tension and thrills.

These movies are based on true events, but what's the reality? Through audio recordings and found video, hear from the actual pirates, hostages and their families during the hijacking of the Danish ship CEC Future, in the documentary Stolen Seas.

Find out the real story behind modern piracy in these books and movies. -- Debra
