Go fish! Or rather, go eat some fish. Health professionals are trying to encourage people of all ages to include more fish in their regular diets. But, why fish? Why not chicken? Or beef? Simple. Fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, and trout are super high in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and D.
But, wait. Haven't we all been taught that fat = bad. Sure we have, but it's far from the truth. Fats like Omega-3 fatty acid can help add years to a person's life by helping reduce the risk of fatal heart disease. Just eating 2 simple servings per week of any of the fish listed above can help get you on the road to adding years to your life.
Also, make sure to check out a few of the library's books on Omega3's:
A guide to unlocking the power of the super-nutrient omega-3. Sears takes readers through each body system and demonstrates how omega-3s are essential to each. He offers tips on what foods and supplements readers should incorporate into their diet, and offers a practical and science-based approach to living a more healthful life.
