  • First student at UCLA to letter in 4 varsity sports (football, basketball, track and baseball) Belying his future career, baseball was Robinson's "worst sport" at UCLA; he hit .097 in his only season, although in his first game he went 4-for-4 and twice stole home
  • Was court-martialed in the army for not going to the back of the bus. Later acquitted he recieved an honorbale discharge as a 2nd lieutenant.
  • Brother, Mack won a silver medal in the 1936 Summer Games in Berlin.  He finished .04 seconds behind Jesse Owens in the 200 meters.
  • His first game April 15, 1947 he played first base.  Later he was a 2nd baseman.
