Hey everybody--sing, talk, read, write and play with children to start them on the road to reading!

Background knowledge is building on and creating a base for what children already know to help them be ready to learn

One of the best ways you can help your child become a good reader later is to help them enjoy reading and sharing books together now.  For many children, reading can be difficult, but research shows that children who enjoy books are more likely to stick with learning to read even if it is difficult.  Make book sharing time interactive and enjoyable.
