Among Others

Best Novel Winner:

Among Others by Jo Walton

Jo Walton picked up a Nebula award earlier this year for this novel that leans on science fiction references while creating a story firmly rooted in the realm of fantasy. Raised by a half mad mother who has dabbled in the supernatural, Morwenna Phelps goes to an English boarding school to escape magic.  Will she succeed in fleeing the darkness of her past?

Game of Thrones

Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form:

Game of Thrones

This multi award winning HBO television series adapted from the first novel of George R.R. Martin's sprawling fantasy novel cycle, A Song of Ice and Fire captured the coveted Hugo Award.  The series faithfully follows the saga of the noble houses of Westeros, the Wall, and Targaryen.   It is one of the very few successful epic fantasy television series ever.

Doctor Who

Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form:

"The Doctor's Wife" from Doctor Who the Sixth Series

The episode was written by Neil Gaiman and concerns the Doctor encountering an entity that can consume the Tardis, the Doctor's time travelling device.
