For many people, October marks the start of fall. The trees slip into their beautiful array of colored foliage, and while temperatures slowly dip, even here in Santa Clara County, we contemplate the task of packing away our summer apparel. During this month we begin the transition from summer into winter, shifting from outdoor activities to indoors. For book group members, October is also a time to celebrate lively conversation around books and reading: October is National Reading Group Month. Many of us are beginning to plot out the reading paths and themes our book groups will take this coming year.
Reading groups prove that good books bring people together. National Reading Group Month is a great opportunity for book clubs to reflect on their shared reading experiences and to plan for the future. If you are not already a member of a book group, this is a perfect time to start or join a group.
