Author event with Ro Khanna
Saturday, May 18th, 1 p.m.
Cupertino Community Hall
If you believe the conventional wisdom, American industry and the jobs it creates are or will soon becoming a thing of the past. Ro Khanna, author of Entrepreneurial Nation, disagrees with this pessimistic viewpoint. Instead, he believes that building up our industrial base is a key factor in America’s future prosperity and security.
In 2009, President Obama appointed Ro Khanna as a deputy assistant trade secretary in his administration. In this capacity, Mr. Khanna oversaw 108 domestic Commerce offices. He also led international trade missions and worked to increase United States exports. He was later appointed to the White House Business Council. Mr. Khanna resigned from the Obama administration in August 2011, and moved to California. He has taught economics at Stanford University and law at Santa Clara University.
