Minefields of the Heart Minefields of the Heart

This month, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group will talk about Minefields of the Heart: A Mother’s Stories of a Son at War, one of the two 2013 Silicon Valley Reads featured titles. Sue Diaz writes about her feelings as the parent of a soldier during her son’s two deployments in Iraq. She concentrates on writing about the home front point of view of the war, and about the stress prolonged absences place upon military families. Ms. Diaz collected the columns she wrote for The Christian Science Monitor as the basis for writing Minefields of the Heart.

The selected title for March will be Paula McLain’s novel, The Paris Wife. Copies will be available at our February meeting, or can be picked up at the Adult Reference Desk starting February 22nd. The Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday evening of each month at 7:00 pm. in the Library Story Room. Adults of all ages are welcome.
All meetings of the Adult Book Discussion Group are kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Cupertino Library.
